Group 1 has seen 3 games getting abandoned without a ball being bowled. One of the 3 games was between England and Australia which could have been an electric game.
Apart from the games which abandoned without a ball being bowled there were some which were finished with no result. South Africa who was on the verge of winning their group game against Zimbabwe in Hobart was interrupted by rain.
Rain has derailed the campaign of many favorites of the tournament.
What will happen if the Knockout games of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 get washed out
ICC has allocated reserve days for both the semi-finals and final in case these games get washed out on the scheduled date. The reserve days are allocated just one day after the scheduled dates.
Semi-final 1 at Sydney, 9th November (1:30 PM IST)
Semi-final 2 at Adelaide, 10th November (1:30 PM IST)
Final at Melbourne, 13th November (1:30 PM IST)
What is Reserve Day?
Reserve day is allocated when a large portion of a match is affected due to rain. That game is shifted to the other day for the completion and that day is called Reserve day in cricket.
Back In the 2002 Champions Trophy, final India was up against Sri Lanka. Fans were eagerly waiting for their teams to lift their first-ever Champions Trophy title but the rain had some other plans. The rain poured down for the whole day of the final.
ICC allotted a reserve day but even that couldn’t get the result of the game as the rain didn’t stop even on the next day.
In the end, both Sri Lanka and India were declared as joint winners.

If the reserve day for the semi-finals gets washed out then the team having more points in the group stage will be declared the winner.
