The inaugural day of the 2023-24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy came to an exhilarating conclusion as 36 teams competed in various groups. In the match against Assam, Odisha batsman Subhranshu Senapati demonstrated his batting prowess by scoring 119 runs and became the highest run-scorer of the tournament as of now. Akash Pandey, the left-arm spinner for Railways, stands at the top of the bowling statistics with four wickets secured in the match against Manipur.

2023-24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy latest results, schedule, date, venue, format, & participating teams
Turning our focus to Group A, Hyderabad, Chhattisgarh, Baroda, and Mumbai initiated their campaign on a powerful note, clinching victories against J&K, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Haryana, respectively. Hyderabad, under the leadership of Tilak Varma, displayed exceptional prowess with both the bat and ball.
In Group B, Services, Chandigarh, Odisha, and Kerala secured victories in their respective matches. Services currently lead the group, having achieved a convincing eight-wicket triumph over Sikkim. Group C sees Gujarat at the top of the standings, following their six-wicket victory over Arunachal Pradesh. Railways, Goa, and Saurashtra also secured wins in this group.
Group D witnessed victories for Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Puducherry, and Rajasthan, while Jharkhand’s first fixture is scheduled for October 17. Regrettably, Group E’s matches were completely washed out due to heavy rainfall in Dehradun, with no play taking place.
