2022–23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Mumbai vs Himachal Pradesh Final Result, Scores, Winner, & Best Performers
Himachal struggled with the bat to finish with 143 for 8 on a chilly evening with just enough action from the Eden Gardens surface to keep the seamers engaged. However, they were able to stay in the game thanks to some excellent bowling and fielding for the whole of the game.
With Mumbai needing 16 runs off of their final eight deliveries, Sarfaraz flat-batted medium pacer Abhinay for a six over long off and then followed that up with a lovely, tiny deflection past the wicketkeeper for four to reduce the deficit to six runs off the final over. Tanush Kotian, who had earlier in the evening taken three wickets with his frugal offspring to start the game, then scored the game-winning runs when he dragged Rishi Dhawan into the stands at fine leg, setting off raucous celebrations in the Mumbai camp.
Earlier during first innings of match, Mumbai’s Tanush Kotian troubled Himachal batting line-up by allowing just 15 runs in 4 overs at the expense of three wickets. Later, Mumbai were able to achieve their target thanks to patient batting by Sarfaraz Khan, who scored 36 off 31 deliveries. For Himachal Pradesh, Vaibhav Arora managed to take 3 wickets and gave away just 27 runs in 4 overs.
