After a spectacular 100 in the third Twenty20 International, Rohit Sharma ten-year-old tweet in support of Suryakumar Yadav went viral on Twitter
14 fours and six maximums were part of Suryakumar Yadav’s innings, but after he was dismissed, India could only muster 198/9 in response to England’s 215/7.
Suryakumar Yadav, a middle-order batsman for India, is likely to have secured his spot in the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup after hammering a 55-ball 117 against England in the third T20I, which the Men in Blue lost by 17 runs. India was in trouble at 13/2 after 2.4 overs and needed another 200+ runs to win from the remaining overs when Suryakumar entered the fray.
“Suryakumar Yadav to watch out for,” Rohit Sharma Old Tweet Goes Viral On Twitter
Soon after he arrived, India lost Rohit Sharma, another important wicket, bringing their total to 31-3 after 5 overs. Suryakumar and Shreyas Iyer went on to add 119 runs for the fourth wicket in the following 10 overs, turning the tide and keeping India in the game until the penultimate over.
14 fours and six maximums were part of his innings, but after he was dismissed, India could only muster 198/9 in response to England’s 215/7.
Following the game, a number of former cricketers praised the knock, and in the thick of everything, a tweet from ten years prior by Rohit reappeared on social media. The current India captain made the prediction in a tweet from December 2011 in which he listed Suryakumar as one of the players to watch out for the next decade.
“Just finished BCCI awards here in Chennai; several promising cricketers in the horizon. Watch out for Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai in the future!” the message warned.
Just got done with BCCI awards here in chennai..some exciting cricketers coming up..Suryakumar yadav from Mumbai to watch out for in future!

Ten years after that tweet, it just so happens that both of them are currently playing for the same team in domestic, international, and IPL competitions. Along with playing for the national team and Ranji, Rohit and Suryakumar also participate for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. Furthermore, Rohit leads Surya in every format, which is a fun fact.
