Sudhanshu Dhulia Family And Education
Sudhanshu’s family hails from the Pauri Garhwal district in Uttarakhand, India. He is the second son of K. C. Dhulia, who was a judge of the Allahabad High Court and grandson of Bhairav Dutt Dhulia who was a freedom fighter and editor of Karmabhumi newspaper in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Dhulia has attended Sainik School, Lucknow.
Later he attended Allahabad University. Tigmanshu Dhulia who is a renowned director in Bollywood is Sudhanhu’s brother. He is 5ft 8in tall and his mother’s name is Sumitra Dhulia.

Sudhanshu Dhulia Professional Career
Dhulia started his official practice before the Allahabad High Court in year 1986. As being a part of the Bar council, Sudhanshu Dhulia was the legal counsel for the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.), Roorkee, State Industrial Development Corporation of the Uttarakhand Ltd. (SIDCUL), Bhagirathi River Valley Authority, amongst others.
Dhulia became the first Chief Standing Counsel of Uttarakhand state and later on, he was appointed as the State Additional Advocate General. Sudhanshu Dhulia was designated as a Senior Advocate by Uttarakhand High Court in year 2004. Sudhanshu Dhulia was also an honorary professor in the state of Uttarakhand Academy of Administration (ATI) Nainital.
Dhulia was elevated from the bar to the bench and appointed Judge of the High Court of Uttarakhand on 1st of November in 2008. Sudhanshu Dhulia has also been appointed the judge in charge of education, at Uttarakhand judicial and legal academy. Dhulia was elevated as Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court on 7 January 2021 and took the oath on 10 January 2021. He was elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 9th May 2022.
