The San Francisco 49ers and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs square off in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

On average, NFL cheerleaders take home $150 per game, adding up to around $22,500 a year and if you’re lucky and cheer for teams like the Dallas Cowboys or the Carolina Panthers, you could rake in a much more respectable $75,000 annually.
As sports and entertainment fans across the U.S. anticipate the Super Bowl this Sunday — an event that rakes in billions in revenue — it might be surprising to learn that many cheerleaders aren’t paid even minimum wage to work the games.

The Chiefs defeated the 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV, which is being recapped here following the 2019 season. Kansas City has made four trips to the big game in the last five years. The 49ers last prevailed in Super Bowl XXIX during the 1994 season.
With five Super Bowl triumphs to Kansas City’s three, the 49ers have the all-time advantage in these contests. The Chiefs won Super Bowl IV for the first time against the Minnesota Vikings following the 1969 season, and San Francisco won all five of its Lombardi Trophies between 1981 and 1994.
The Chiefs have just completed their sixth consecutive trip to the AFC Championship Game; only the Patriots dynasty has had as many conference title game appearances as they have (eight). The 49ers recently made their fourth trip to the NFC Championship Game in five seasons and their third consecutive year.
With two formidable teams, the much-awaited Super Bowl LVIII is drawing near, the NFL and both clubs’ best players will want to create history in football’s season-ending matchup in 2023–2024.
