The NFL have placed Carl Cheffers, as the main referee who will lead the officiating crew for the Super Bowl. Cheffers has a lot of experience with officiating the Super Bowl. In fact, the 62-year-old experienced both Kansas City and Philadelphia’s most recent Super Bowl finals during Super Bowl 54 and 52 respectively.
Cheffers also officiated two of Chiefs’ games this season both of which were victories over the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans. He also officiated one Eagles’ game during their Week 18 win over the New York Giants.
Carl will lead an officiating crew with nearly a decade of championship experience. The crew consist of Roy Ellison, Jeff Bergman, Eugene Hall, and Dino Paganelli. All of them have their own experience with the season’s biggest game.
Both Eugene Hall and Dino Paganelli featured in Kansas City’s win back in Super Bowl 54. Jeff Bergman officiated Super Bowl 31 and is most probably the most experienced official on the crew.
