Steph Curry latest injury update today, report, status and return date new

According to a statement by the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has been sidelined indefinitely after sustaining partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane and a lower leg contusion. He will be sidelined for several weeks due to the injury, according to Shams Charania, who said that an official timetable will be released at a later time.

How did the injury happen?

Curry was hurt on Saturday night while the Warriors were defeating the Dallas Mavericks, 119-113, with Luka Doncic’s absence. Curry and Mavericks guard McKinley Wright IV looked to knock knees while Curry was attempting to stop Wright from driving. Later, Curry exited the game to go to the locker room after his leg gave way inward.

When will Curry return?

Curry will return this season, hopefully, sooner rather than later, said the head coach Steve Kerr on Sunday.

Due to a left shoulder subluxation earlier this season, Curry missed 11 games. Curry has always had durability issues. In the 2018–19 season, he missed 18 games, and in the 2019–20 season, he played only five times. Early in his career, a string of ankle problems prevented him from developing, but he eventually overcame them and became a player worthy of the MVP award.

A Golden State team underachieving expectations this season would have severe concerns if Curry were to be sidelined for an extended period. Despite winning the championship the previous season, the Warriors have only won 27 games out of 53. Despite holding the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference, they risk being eliminated from the play-in round entirely if Curry is out for any length of time. Only 2.5 games separate them from the No. 13 seed Lakers at this time.

The guard spots are crowded with the Warriors. Donte DiVincenzo had a terrific comeback season in Golden State, and Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson can increase their usage. As the greatest shooter of all time cannot be replaced, the Warriors can only hope that he returns to health as soon as possible.
