Rahul was removed from the field after a brief period of checking. Rahul was able to go independently back to the dressing room as the support personnel called for a stretcher. With only one month until the crucial 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, the injury would be extremely concerning for both LSG and Team India.
LSG is being led by Krunal Pandya in Rahul’s absence as they attempt to earn their sixth victory of the year and tie Gujarat Titans, the defending champions and current leaders of the table, in points. With five victories and three losses, LSG is currently ranked second in the standings.
When will Rahul be likely to return?
Rahul did not enter the field with Kyle Mayers to open the batting. LSG had no choice other than to replace the fast bowler Yash thakur with an impact player Ayush Badoni.
Since Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah are already out for the major match, India will be hoping that Rahul’s injury is not serious. Given that the Rohit Sharma-led team only selected one specialist gloveman (KS Bharat) in the 15-man roster, Rahul is a possibility to maintain wickets.
Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli’s gesture for KL Rahul Wins the Internet.
Rahul was forced to lose last night at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in addition to suffering a severe injury. The match was marked by a heated argument between Virat Kohli and Lucknow coach Gautam Gambhir, in addition to an exciting run chase.
But among all of them, one particular instance stood out. Rahul showed incredible bravery to come out to bat for Lucknow even though he had to leave the field early in the game owing to a leg injury. Only managing to face three deliveries, Rahul was approached by Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj shortly after the game’s conclusion to inquire about the Lucknow captain’s injury. Cricket fans praised the sportsmanship of Kohli and Siraj.
