Surrogacy and adoption are still two different words that are frowned upon in India with Star Plus mocks laws trending on Twitter
Let us all agree that when it concerns these phrases and procedures, we Indians are utterly ignorant. Now, I’m not saying that things aren’t improving. They certainly are, but the trouble is that the transition isn’t happening quickly enough. One of the major reasons for this, in my opinion, is the movies and series that revolve around it. Most of the time, these films and 2television shows depict surrogacy and adoption in just such a negative light that it discourages isndividuals from pursuing such treatments.

Twitter Is Furious With Starplus For Portraying Surrogacy Negatively
Consider the Starplus sitcom Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein, in which the main characters, an IPS officer, a doctor, and an intelligent housewife, parody the surrogacy operation and the rules surrounding it. To suggest Twitter is irritated is an insult. In fact, desi Twitterati has started a trend called ‘Starplus Mocks Laws’ to highlight the questionable things that the channel’s programs have done in the name of storylines. They’ve specifically targeted the program Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein. It has been poking fun at surrogacy rules and portraying them negatively.
One user in the Twitter trend ‘Starplus Mocks Laws’ stated, “So surrogate mother wants to be intimate with the biological father of the kid that’s why doing all this, it’s the lesson for community surrogacy ka purpose hi ruined”.
What the person has pointed out is incredibly troublesome. In India, we generally assume that surrogates must have intercourse with their husbands, which is not true. They may now be artificially inseminated. Promoting such negative ideas has a profoundly regressive influence on society. No matter how open we get to the notion of such operations. We will return to square one.
As much as we may dislike it, films and television shows have a significant influence on our culture. As a result, when they are the ones insulting and disseminating misleading info about operations such as surrogacy, adoption, abortion, and others. The public will regard these treatments as taboo and evil.
