However, their digital platform Wittyfeed got shut down in 2018. Now the co-founders of STAGE came to Shark Tank India in order to raise funds for their online streaming platform.
As per their explanation, the founders of the STAGE have started out with ‘Inner Voice,’ which is a community for people to express their emotions and have meaningful conversations with others.
The Co-founders started the venture as a side project at WittyFeed content company. Now their Inner Voice has become one of the largest communities for Pets, comedians and storytellers across India.
As of now, the trio worked with thousands of artists in their 3 years journey to understand the business model well. In this time, they grasped the depth of Stand-Up content and how it can be helpful to influence people at large.
For those who are curious, let us tell you, STAGE, is a platform which allows artists to distribute and monetize their content. It also allows viewers to discover their highly curated regional stand-up content which can help them connect.
The platform lets Indian language content artists showcase their work on OTT platform. The platform showcases most of the work such as poetry, comedy, storytelling among many more.
The founders of the STAGE came to the Shark Tank India Season 2 and revealed their struggle story as well as they explained their business model. Their struggle story left all sharks quite emotional.
Let us remind you, STAGE is an OTT platform for Haryanvi language content. As per the recent reports, the platform has successfully raised a fund of Rs. 40 Crore by Blume Ventures.
Previously, the company has raised a fund of Rs. 31 Crore, and now it brings the total capital raised to Rs. 71 Crore.
Dialect based, hyperlocal OTT platform STAGE has raised ₹40 crore in Series A funding led by Blume Ventures with participation from NB Ventures, Dholakia Ventures, TSM Ventures, WeFounderCircle, Mumbai Angels, Tarmac Ventures, Tailwind Ventures, Longtail Ventures, Lets Ventures and AngelList and existing investors who participated are Better Capital, IPV, TCA, Venture Catalysts along with some angels. The total valuation of the company stands at ₹290 crore.
The company began with Haryanavi content in 2019, and has over 225,000 subscribers at present and is growing 30% M-o-M, according to estimates provided by the company.
