With their 4-0 victory over eighth-seed Colombia, top-seed Egypt achieved their second consecutive whitewash victory. Meanwhile, Malaysia prevailed in a tense and challenging match against Australia to secure their semi-final berth. On Thursday, Malaysia will face-off against Egypt and the winner will emerge as Group-A winner. Meanwhile, Japan will clash against India to determine the winner of Group-B. To secure their respective semi-final spots, India defeated South Africa and Japan won against Hong Kong.
It is confirmed that the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-final following the conclusion of the group stage on Thursday, while the remaining teams will compete in play-offs for the fifth through eighth spots. Regarding the prize money for this important competition, there is currently no official information.
