Saurav Ghosal finished his schooling at Lakshmipat Singhania Academy based in Kolkata. Ghosal has achieved first medal in squash championship held at Doha Asian Games. His first major title was the German Open Under -17 in May in 2002 and he won the Dutch Open two months later. In 2013, Saurav became one of first Indian squash player to reach the quarterfinals of the World Championship.
In 2014, he clinched a silver medal at the 17th Asian Games at Incheon. Ghosal was the first Indian squash player to do it. His height is 5 feet 6 Inches and his weight is nearly around 65 Kg as of 2022. He got married to his love of life, Diya Pallikal who is sister of Dipika Pallikal Karthik on the 1st of February in 2017.
Saurav Ghosal Professional Career, Ranking, And Coach
Saurav Ghosal shifted to Chennai after finishing his school and was based at ICL squash academy in Chennai and coached by Major Maniam and Cyrus Poncha in Chennai, India. Currently based in Leeds, he trains with Malcolm Willstrop at the Pontefract Squash Club based in West Yorkshire.
Saurav clinched the bronze medal at the Asian Games of 2006 Doha and was awarded the highest honorable award, the Arjuna Award by the President of India in August in 2007 thus becoming the first Squash player from the country to get the award. He is also a good friend of Shubhraneel Burman. He has a height of 168cm and is currently ranked 15th in the world.
