According to reports, Valencia will earn €1.7 million, Real Betis will earn €750,000, and Barcelona and Real Madrid will each receive base payments of €2.8 million. The second-place finishers will receive €1 million, and the winners will receive €2 million. This implies that the winning teams, Barcelona or Real Madrid, would each receive €4.8 million.

The cup has been played in Saudi Arabia for the past two years, which lavished money on the event’s hosting. According to MARCA, the cup will generate €40m (£35m/$43m) for Spanish football.

Similar techniques were used by the two finalists to reach their clash on Sunday. Real Madrid took the lead over Valencia in their semifinal, only to lose it in overtime. After a penalty shootout, in which Los Blancos maintained their confidence to go to the final, the tie was finally decided.

For the other side, in their semifinal match on Thursday, Barcelona and Real Betis both took the forefront. However, after Ansu Fati gave the Catalans the lead, the Andalusians not only tied the score during regulation time but also in extra time. However, the Blaugrana can thank Marc Andre ter Stegen for two crucial stops that ultimately allowed Xavi’s team to win on penalties.

Meanwhile, the next thing for both of the Spanish football rivals is that, on Wednesday, Real Madrid will play Valencia, while on Thursday, Real Betis and Barcelona will square off. Sunday will see the winners.
