The badminton event will feature eight events: men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles, men’s team, women’s team, and mixed team.
Southeast Asia Games (SEA) Games 2023 date and venue
The SEA 2023 badminton event will take place across nine days starting from Monday 8 to Tuesday 16 May. It will take place at the Morodok Techo National Stadium located in Phnom Penh.

The SEA Games 2023 will however, clash with the BWF Sudirman Cup – the world mixed team championships. The Sudirman Cup starts on 14 May in Suzhou, People’s Republic of China. As such many big names are set to skip out the SEA Games tournament to focus on the Sudirman Cup.
Going into the competition, Loh Kean Yew, the 2021 men’s singles world champion is the biggest name in action. He will play only in the men’s team event for Singapore. Since this event ends on 11 May, he has enough time to travel to Suzhou for the Sudirman Cup.
Meanwhile, the individual events will feature many up-and-coming players for the bigger nations, which include Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. All of this countries will be focusing on participating in the Sudirman Cup.
