At the 2023 Southeast Asian Games, Thailand, led by star player Ajcharaporn Kongyot, defeated Myanmar in straight sets (25-8, 25-8, 25-6) to qualify for the women’s indoor volleyball semifinal. Thailand’s qualification for the semi-final on May 13 was guaranteed by this easy Group A victory. The player from Turkey was happy with the straightforward victory as her side attempts to win the SEA Games for the fourteenth consecutive year. Meanwhile, Philippines lost their closely contested Group B encounter against a determined Vietnam despite having their seasoned captain, Alyssa Valdez, on the pitch.
