Klinsmann is the second-highest-paid manager in the Asian Cup. After 17 years, the German manager made a comeback to the international scene with South Korea. The former manager of Bayern Munich is the nation’s first well-known manager since 2002. Guus Hiddink guided the Asian nation into the FIFA World Cup 2002 semifinal, which took place in South Korea and Japan at the time.

In the midst of the 2008–09 season, he was replaced after just 300 days with the team. In 2011, the German manager made a brief return to management with the US national team.
In the 2012–13 season, he helped the team win the Gold Cup, which was his first prize of the career. Later, he quit the position in 2016 after staying for five years. In 2013, Klinsmann agreed to a five-year deal worth approximately $3.5 million to remain with the US national team. According to rumors, the US Soccer Federation gave him $1.4 million after he was let go from the position in 2016.
In the fifteen games that Klinsmann has coached South Korea, the team has only won eight. During this time, the German coach has employed 34 players and dropped two games.
