What Exactly Happened in Chapter 102
It is now known that Marin’s father’s name is “Masumi.” A group of Marin’s pals talk about her cosplay that went viral. The news of how popular his daughter’s Haniel cosplay is shocked Masumi.
After Masumi learns that Wakana has been sewing all of Marin’s clothes, he pays a personal visit to the Gojo house to express his regret for the hardship Marin caused him. Before going out to see the shrines, the Kitagawa and Gojo families had a family supper.
Marin is concerned about Wakana’s well-being because he appears to be himself again. Since the Winter Comiket, Marin and Wakana have remained silent. Masumi instructed Wakana to tend to Marin, but Wakana mistook the request for food.
Chapter review
Everything is building up to this point. Despite the chapter’s overall lighthearted tone, there is evidently some simmering tension. We know Gojo is going through something intense from the last panel of the last chapter, but maybe he’s convinced himself it’s constipation. Either way, Marin and Gojo are still processing the Haniel Incident, and it’s affecting their ability to interact.
This is quite reasonable, as anybody who has been through something similar can attest. Getting over the awkwardness will take some time, even if they are able to be in each other’s company.
