The much-acclaimed live action film shoppingmode Sonic the Hedgehog, is once again back in action to its animated roots with Sonic Prime, know if season 2 has a release date
The streaming giant Netflix Premiered the series on Thursday, December 15, 2022. The series begins with Blue Blur and his friends as they fall through alternate dimensions.
Meanwhile our favourite character Sonic had to restore the universe to save his friends. Ever since it dropped on our screens, it is getting more and more praise from the viewers.
Sonic Prime Season 2 Release Date, Update, Voice Actor Cast, Story
The series is packed with a total of 8 episodes that have won many hearts and now fans of the series are wondering whether there will be another installment.
Sonic Prime Season 2?
For those who are curious to know whether the series will be back for another installment, let us tell you, the showrunners have confirmed that the series will be back with Season 2.
As per the official announcement, the streaming giant Netflix have originally planned the series for 24 episodes. Out of these 24 episodes, we have already witnessed 8 episodes as a part of Season 1.
The animation studio house is presently working on the remaining episodes of the series, which are expected to be released in 2023.
However, as of now there isn’t any official specific date for the release of these episodes or whether the remaining 16 episodes will be released all together or whether they will be split into two seasons.
Earlier in an interview, the Executive Producer of Series, Logan McPherson, revealed that they are making more episodes.
As per Logan’s statement, “That is not the end of the story, and we have made more episodes.”
He further added, “I don’t have any details about when exactly they might launch but you can expect them in the not too distant future. The story continues to build and stretches Sonic to his limits both physically and emotionally, so you can expect a wild ride and a lot of fun to come!!”
Expectations from Season 2
As of now there isn’t much information available regarding Season 2 and its storyline. However, the creator has teased us that there will be a face-off between different Sonics of different universes.
In a statement, Logan said, “We really wanted to take Sonic in new directions with this series. It is based on the mythology, it is part of the canon, and we really used that as a springboard for the story. But we wanted to stretch him and take the story in crazy new directions.”
He continued, “So the ‘Shatterverse,’ as we’re calling it, made sense for us to be able to explore and play with different aspects and elements without changing the mythology that already exists.”
Season 2 Voice Cast
The voice cast for Season 2 will most likely be returning to reprise their roles. As per reports Sonic Prime Season 2 will feature:
Deven Mack as shoppingmode Sonic the Hedgehog,
Brian Drummond as Dr Eggman,
Ashleigh Ball as Miles Prower,
Adam Nurada as Knuckles the Echidna, Shannon Chan-Kent as Amy Rose,
Ian Hanlin as Shadow the Hedgehog, and Kazumi Evans as Rouge the Bat.
