How has football fans reacted to Rodriguez’s tattoo?
Recently, Argentinian striker Yamila Rodriguez was spotted with a Cristiano Ronaldo tattoo on her left shin. In response to this, she has been harshly criticized by Argentina fans and her social media is full with hateful comments. Due to this undeserved criticism, the player clarified the situation and pleaded with the fans to stop such hateful comments. Notably, Rodriguez came off the bench during Argentina’s clash against Italy, which her country lost 0-1.
Additionally, she clarified that just because she has a Ronaldo tattoo, doesn’t mean that she is anti-Messi. Rodriguez stated that she just prefers Ronaldo over Messi because the former inspired her. During her statement, Rodriguez added that no one is bound to support only players from his country and anyone is open to support their preferred football superstar. On Monday, she tweeted one picture with Ronaldo’s arm around Messi to highlight the respect between the two superstars and urge fans for doing the same.
we examine the full statement of Yamila Rodriguez:
I never said I’m anti-Messi and never would be. He is our captain of our national team – me saying that my inspiration and idol is CR7 (Ronaldo) doesn’t mean that I hate Messi. Just to me (we can all like different things) I like the other player better, the one that inspired me”
“What’s the problem? We’re not all obligated to love the players from our own country. Please understand that this is football and everyone has their own preferences and that lifting one player up doesn’t mean burying the other”
Why Argentinian fans are against Rodriguez’s Ronaldo tattoo?
With 12 Ballon d’Or between them, Ronaldo and Messi are regarded as two of the greatest players of all time. During the nine years that they competed against one another in Spain — while Messi was a star for Barcelona and Ronaldo for Real Madrid — their rivalry intensified. At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Messi led Argentina to their first World Cup victory since 1982. Messi signed with Inter Miami CF earlier this month as a free agent.
