we examine the full statement of Yamila Rodriguez:

I never said I’m anti-Messi and never would be. He is our captain of our national team – me saying that my inspiration and idol is CR7 (Ronaldo) doesn’t mean that I hate Messi. Just to me (we can all like different things) I like the other player better, the one that inspired me”

“What’s the problem? We’re not all obligated to love the players from our own country. Please understand that this is football and everyone has their own preferences and that lifting one player up doesn’t mean burying the other”

Why Argentinian fans are against Rodriguez’s Ronaldo tattoo?

With 12 Ballon d’Or between them, Ronaldo and Messi are regarded as two of the greatest players of all time. During the nine years that they competed against one another in Spain — while Messi was a star for Barcelona and Ronaldo for Real Madrid — their rivalry intensified. At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Messi led Argentina to their first World Cup victory since 1982. Messi signed with Inter Miami CF earlier this month as a free agent.
