Solo Leveling Anime Release Date Rumours Reappear As Website Domain Registered In News And Trailer Update

Well, new rumours are circulating online that a Solo Leveling anime adaptation could be confirmed by the end of next month, following reports of a Japanese website for a TV series being registered. Following news of a Japanese website for a TV series being established, new rumours are surfacing online that a Solo Leveling anime adaptation may be announced by the end of next month.

Anime Rumours Spread Online Through Solo Leveling Domain

At the time of writing, no production studio had publicly stated that an anime adaptation of Solo Leveling was in the works; nonetheless, social media was inundated with rumours and ideas regarding a possible TV production.

New rumours of an anime adaptation have emerged this week, fueled by allegations that a Solo Leveling anime website domain was just registered. “The Solo Leveling anime website titled “sololeveling-anime.net” has been registered by a Tokyo (Japan) based corporation, GMO Internet, the same company is also responsible for the Sword Art Online anime website,” according to Anime Senpai.

The rumour was shared on the AnimeHype and IGN Southeast Asia Twitter sites, with AnimeHype stating that the Solo Leveling anime will be developed by A1 Pictures (the same firm that creates Sword Art Online), in collaboration with Aniplex and Crunchyroll. According to subsequent articles, a formal announcement is scheduled for July 2022.

Interestingly, rumours of a Solo Leveling anime adaptation in 2022 circulated when the official DNC Webtoon Twitter page shared a preview for the forthcoming OST (Original Sound Track). The new single, titled “Solo Leveling x THE BOYZ,” was published in February 2022, fueling rumours that it was part of a broader advertising effort for an anime adaptation.

The Problem With Animating The Webtoon As A Standard Animation

While an anime adaptation would be a global hit, there may be a tiny snag when it comes to adapting the Solo Leveling series; namely, Japanese production studios.

As YouTuber Yiman’ pointed out in a famous video, certain arcs of Solo Leveling do not always portray Japanese culture well. He speculates that unless Japanese animation companies are ready to adjust particular portions of the plot, this might imply that the series will not be adapted.

One possible answer would be for a South Korean or American animation company, such as Studio Mir, to develop the series, or for streaming sites such as Crunchyroll to make it an original production.

However, given the great artwork in Solo Leveling and the outstanding aesthetics in other anime, the series would be adapted by either MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen) or Ufotable in a perfect world (Demon Slayer).

When Could A Solo Leveling Anime Be Released?

Unfortunately, forecasting a prospective Solo Leveling anime adaptation release date is still reliant on numerous major aspects, including when development is announced, the number of episodes, and the animation studio.

An anime might be announced at any time, although anime adaptations normally take between 7 and 13 months to broadcast following an official revelation. If the latest rumours of a July announcement are true, this would put a potential premiere window as early as January 2023, while more likely anticipation would be for April or July next year and it will be available to watch officially on websites such as Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Then there’s the issue of episode count; if Solo Leveling season 1 had 12-15 episodes, it would broadcast one slate earlier than if it had 24-25 episodes – which would very certainly use a split-cour production. Finally, animation studios; may seem like a simple statement, but the larger the studio, the more resources it has at its disposal to speed up production.

If A1 Pictures is in charge of the Solo Leveling anime adaptation, fans may expect high-quality production comparable to Sword Art Online, Darling in the Franxx, and 86 Eighty-Six.
