Solly March is “not in his best moment” according to De Zerbi. Said directly after discussing the fitness of Groß.
Maybe a fitness issue based on that? His playing form has been fine imo. Brighton fans seem to be surprised by the benching just as much as FPL managers.

Solly March injury update
The English winger pulled his hamstring while charging back and trying to stop a Toffees break. March was charging at Alex Iwobi, but went down pulling his thigh as he pulled his hamstring. Meanwhile, Iwobi continued his run and eventually set up Dwight McNeil to score Everton’s fourth goal of the game. Following the injury, it looks like March will now sit out the rest of the season.
Fans express shock and dismay
Following the incident, fans took to social media to voice out their shock and sadness.
One Brighton fan tweeted:
Solly March’s hamstring gave way at an inopportune time.”
Meanwhile, a second fan commented:
Dwight McNeil goal to make it 4-0 AND Solly March did his hamstring on the same play. Rough, rough day for Brighton today.”
Yet another third fan wrote:

Another fan said:
Sad to see Solly March pull that hamstring.”
Pre-warned fitness problems
Prior to the game, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi had already warned of March’s fitness problems. He was quoted as telling BT Sport:
“Solly March is not in his best moment (fitness) and Evan Ferguson is good to play one part of the game for sure.”
The injury comes as a big blow to March who has been in good form throughout the season. He has so far scored seven goals and registered seven assists in the Premier League so far.
Everton thrash Brighton
Prior to the injury, Brighton were already in a dangerous position after the visitors stormed their side during the first half itself. Following March’s injury, summer signing Joao Pedro came on as a replacement but did not make much of an impact.
During the match, Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a brace while McNeil forced an own-goal from goalkeeper Jason Steele. Although Alexis Mac Allister managed to get one back for the Seagulls the game was already over. And McNeil scored his second goal in the 96th minute burying the game at 5-1.
