We had some conversation and they didn’t like what they heard.”

It is even less common for NBA players and coaches to engage in verbal altercations that result in the coach being ejected. That’s exactly what happened on Saturday night, as the Lakers defeated the Rockets 107-97 thanks to a dominant 35-14 second quarter.

When there were 8:35 remaining in the fourth quarter, Houston’s Tari Eason drove to the hoop and the Lakers’ Cam Reddish was fouled. Shortly after, Reddish happened to run into Eason as he was getting ready to attempt a free throw.

Following Reddish’s technical foul, there was a brief altercation between the two players. During the play, LeBron James shouted for a travel on Eason, and the Rockets’ head coach, Ime Udoka, answered. He reportedly said:

Y’all got to stop crying like bi**es, man.”

LeBron replied:

Don’t use it so loosely. Don’t use that word so loosely.”

This reportedly sparked a verbal conflict between them and the two were ejected from the game. Meanwhile, both of them declined to discuss specifics of their on-court talk. Udoka said that he had merely been talking to James at his post-game news conference. James, on the other hand, joked that he and Udoka kept talking about “how much we enjoyed Thanksgiving.”

Talking about the game which Lakers won 107-97, after having sluggish starts, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves controlled the game. With 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 blocks, and 27 points, AD had an impressive stat line. With eighteen points, four rebounds, and three steals in the game, Reaves was on fire in the second quarter.

LeBron James contributed four rebounds, seven assists, and sixteen points. Max Christie finished the game with 12 points and six rebounds off the bench, while Cam Reddish scored 11 points in his comeback.
