The World Championship in 2022 is planned to begin in April, but the vital qualifying will take place first. The World Championship will be contested in Sheffield, United Kingdom, for the 46th year in a row, and it will be the 16th and final ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season.

The Snooker World Championship begins on April 16, 2022, and concludes on May 2, 2022. However, the 2022 Snooker World Championship Qualifiers will take place at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield from April 4 to 13.

Qualifiers Tournament Format And Rules
A week before the competition, the English Institute of Sport will organise a qualifying tournament for 128 players. That group will be reduced to only 16 players over the course of a week, with the victors joining the top 16 players in the snooker rankings in the first round draw.
Qualifying matches will be best-of-11 frames in the first, second, and third preliminary rounds, and best-of-19 frames in the fourth and final preliminary round. According to their rankings, the players will enter the qualifiers at different stages.

Ding came back from a 4–7 deficit to overcome Lilley 10–7 and advance to the Crucible for the 16th year in a succession. Ashley Hugill earned his maiden trip to the Crucible after defeating Joe O’Connor 10–7 in the 4th round of snooker world championship qualifiers. Michael White, who had lost his tour card in 2020, came back from a 6–7 behind to upset Brown 10–8 and become the Crucible’s second amateur qualifier in the history.
Un-Nooh trailed 4–6 before winning six of the final seven frames to overcome Selt 10–7. During the match, Un-Nooh made four hundreds and five other half-centuries, including a high break of 145.
