In a 3-0 victory over Ben Woollaston, Bingham came through early to set the tone for his day. Before 68 and 72 completed a thorough opening exhibition, the former World Champion took the lead in a competitive opening frame. After Bingham’s opening victory, Jamie Jones had to concede a two-all draw to Jordan Brown in order to keep the group open.

Due to the previous results from the afternoon, Bingham started the evening with a very clear path to victory. Another victory would put him over the finish line. With 51 and 73 in the first two frames, Ball Run provided just what was required before Jones captured his first frame of the contest to trail 2-1. Bingham ultimately defeated Jones, shooting 59 to win the group and guarantee his berth on Friday’s final day. Later, Bingham defeated Brown 3-1 to end the day, with his best break coming in the third frame with a break of 120.

On July 27, Group A will take centre stage in Table 1 with live coverage on Matchroom featuring Ronnie O’Sullivan, Ali Carter, Yuan Sijun, and Pang Junxu. Group D will be shown live beginning at noon on YouTube and will include Zhao Xintong, Mark Allen, Gary Wilson, and Chang Bingyu.
