Ricky Walden and Luca Brecel, who won Groups G and B of Stage Two of the 2022 BetVictor Championship League Snooker at the Morningside Arena, respectively to qualify for the championship round. Betvictor Snooker Championship League Schedule, Format, And Venue

The group winners’ stage, which consisted of eight groups of four players, was open to the 32 players that finished first in the Stage One group tables. The eight champions from the group winners’ stage go to the final two groups, after which two group winners will clash in the final on the same day. The champion will receive a spot in the 2022 Champion of Champions as well as the Championship League trophy. On July 29, the third and final stage, which will feature eight of the second round’s group winners, will begin.

Betvictor Snooker Championship League 2022 Stage Two Results, Score, And Final Day Schedule

After advancing to the second stage the previous week, Shaun Murphy faced Elliot Slessor in the first match of the day. The former World Champion Murphy won all three points after an emphatic 3-1 win. Ricky Walden was the main competitor with Murphy for first place, but he was never in it after a 2-2 draw with Anthony Hamilton despite being two frames ahead. Nevertheless, The Walnut entered the night as the group leader after defeating Slessor in a close game by a score of 3–2.

Murphy started his second match of the day against Hamilton, with a 64-point contribution to take an early 1-0 lead. Although Murphy took the lead and finished the game with 88 in the final frame, Hamilton did make 106 on the following level.

Walden gained the early lead in the group decider against Shaun Murphy with 64 in the first, but Murphy edged the second 65-56 to equalize the score and put the game one away from the final day. In the third frame, Murphy made 62 and only needed one red to make Walden need snookers. After one miss, Walden returned to the game to reverse the momentum and score to make it 2-1. To seize the spot in final day, Walden needed one more frame and Walden finally hit a stunning winning break of 135 to claim the victory.

The winners of Groups 1 and 2, respectively, will compete in the 2022 BetVictor Championship League Snooker final in a Best of 5 format to determine the tournament’s overall champion.
With Zhao Xintong, Luca Brecel, Xiao Guodong, and Lyu Haotian as its leaders, Group 2 will take centre stage at Table 1 tomorrow. Group 1 will begin play at noon with Stuart Bingham, Ricky Walden, Lu Ning, and Pang Junxu.
