Simranjit has 3 siblings, 1 elder sister, and 2 younger brothers. Simranjit’s siblings were in the game boxing before she started. Simranjit Kaur was pushed by her mother Mrs. Kaur as she was also a boxing enthusiast and wants her to opt for boxing, the way she did to her siblings.

Simranjit after watching her siblings giving their effort and showing their skills in boxing finally decided to give boxing a try. Her mother believed that for good education a lot of money will be required so its better if Kaur takes up boxing.
She suddenly fell in love with the sport of boxing and connected herself at Sher-e-Punjab sports academy in their village. Kaur would spend most of her time in training with the boys at the academy due to fewer girls in her weight category and from here Simranjit’s wrestling journey began.

Simranjit Kaur after achieving her 1st International Gold at the Ahmet Comert International Boxing tournament held in the year 2018 became quite popular. Later in the same year, Simranjit won her second international Bronze medal by winning the 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. She won this medal in the category of Light welterweight, representing India.
In the year 2019 Simranjeet Kaur bagged a Silver medal in the Light welterweight category of 64 kg, losing to China’s Dou Dan at the Asian Boxing Championships held in Bangkok in Thailand. In 2020, Simranjit Kaur got her ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after she attained a Silver medal.
She was ranked number one in 2018 but fell down to the world number 6 AIBA ranking in 2020.
