Simon Katich Steps Down As RCB Head Coach Ahead Of IPL 2021 In UAE, Mike Hesson To Take Over

RCB will be devoid of the services of Simon Katich with Mike Hesson slotting in as the side’s head coach for IPL 2021 to be held in UAE

One side which would have been extremely despondent after IPL 2021 got curtailed owing to the second COVID-19 wave in India was Royal Challengers Bangalore. In third place at the time IPL was stalled, RCB were going from strength to strength, a side which was finally unlocking its true potential.

While it won’t be easy for the side to pick up from where it had left off, the side does have the players in its kitty to do so. Despite three Australians withdrawing ahead of the league’s resumption in September, the side has managed to compensate for them by adding Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmantha Chameera and Tim David to its squad.

However, there’s not only a change when it comes to the team’s squad. The side’s caoching team has seen a shuffle as well with head coach Simon Katich deciding to pull out of the restart owing to personal reasons.

Revealing the news in a statement released by them on Saturday, RCB have gone onto talk about Katich’s replacement as well. Head of Cricket Operations, Mike Hesson will be taking over from Katich for the remainder of the current season.
