Sports Illustrated Swimsuit has announced its 2023 SI Swim Search Final 12 models, and this year’s lineup features a diverse group of aspiring models vying for a spot in the iconic print issue or on its digital platforms
The annual casting call provides opportunities for both established and aspiring models to meet with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit team, and over the years, the competition has evolved to include social media and The Swimfluence Network app, allowing for even more submissions and increased diversity among candidates.
The 2023 SI Swim Search Final 12 includes a variety of women from different backgrounds and experiences, each with unique stories and journeys to share.

Achieng Agutu
Achieng Agutu is a content maker and confidence advocate who became a model. She calls herself a “education baddie.” The New York-based social media expert who goes by @noordinarynoire on Instagram and TikTok became known for her funny talks about what normal, everyday bodies look like.
As a Black woman who cares a lot about education, fashion, skin care, and beauty, she now uses her lifestyle material to help her 800,000 followers. The 26-year-old woman is from Kisumu, Kenya. Before she started modeling, she went to Goshen College in Indiana to study public relations and Spanish. Later, she went to Hult International Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to study international marketing and business analytics.
Nina Cash
Nina Cash is a model and former associate dean of a university from Long Beach, California. She is 56 years old. She has worked in education, training, and job development for more than 30 years, and Nina has several advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in educational leadership. Nina also has three kids.
Sharina Gutierrez
Sharina Gutierrez, who is 32 years old, has been a model for about 20 years. She has worked for names like Ralph Lauren, Estee Lauder, Rimmel London, and Reebok in the past.
She is also the daughter of immigrants, and she is very proud of her Filipino background. Sharina even helped start Mama Mantra, a brand that spreads positivity and encourages parents and children to believe in themselves and break down barriers.
Justis Adison
Adison Justis is from Rockford, Illinois, and is 21 years old. She is a model and a college student. She lives in Los Angeles and has worked as an intern for producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi. Adison is currently going towards a degree in criminal justice reform.
Jenna Kutcher
Jenna Kutcher is 34 years old. She runs the podcast The Goal Digger and wrote the book How Are You, Really? The best-selling author and businesswoman in the New York Times says that her present goal, outside of modeling, is to help women feel powerful and take charge of their lives.
Penny Lane
This 27-year-old woman from Cheshire, England, has wanted to be a model for as long as she can remember. When she was 16, she went to London to try to make her dream come true. But after meeting with industry leaders, Penny Lane felt pushed to lose weight and have her breasts reduced.
This made her feel bad about her body and hurt her ability to have children. The model’s experience led her to become a certified holistic health guide, and she has since worked to get people talking about mental health and body image.
Acacia McBride
Acacia McBride is a model and digital creator from Starkville, Mississippi, who is 25 years old. She has already been in foreign campaigns for brands like Sephora for Patrick TA, Beauty Blender, and TooFaced Cosmetics. She got her B.A. in marketing from Clark University in Atlanta before she moved to Los Angeles to follow her dream of becoming a model.
Nana Meriweth
Nana Meriwether was Miss USA and a two-time All-American volleyball player for UCLA. The 37-year-old is also the founder of Navina, a fitness company that makes alcohol alternatives, and the co-founder of the Meriwether Foundation, an international non-profit that works to improve health and give people more power.
In addition to running her own business, the model, who was born in South Africa and grew up in Potomac, Maryland, has written for Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and Vogue Australia, among others.

Brittney Nicole has only been modelling for a short time. The 32-year-old woman is from Augusta, Georgia, but she has lived in Gulfport, Mississippi, Guam, Spain, Israel, and Japan at different points in her life because of her Navy job. After her contract was up, she started a modelling job that has become quite successful. She even walked at New York Fashion Week.
Mahalia
Mahalia is a model from Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. She is 30 years old and is both Maori and Irish. Mahalia has been in the business since she was a teenager and has been in ads for brands in Australia, London, and the United States.
She helped start the activism group Shine4Diversity, which took on the Australian fashion media by using positive images and stories to show how stereotypes hurt people of colour. She got a business degree from Curtin University and focused on communications and perspectives with indigenous companies.
Jena Sims
Jena Sims is the queen of Jupiter, Florida. She is 34 years old and the founder and president of HBBQs, Inc., which puts on the contest of HopeTM, which is now thought to be the most inclusive contest in the world. Sims went to Belmont University before she worked for a non-profit. In 2005, she won her first beauty pageant, which led her to start HBBQ pageants.
Berkleigh Wright
Berkleigh Wright is an analyst and expert account manager who was born in Lawrence, Kansas, and now lives in Denver. The 28-year-old worked as a Denver Broncos cheerleader while she went to school at the University of Kansas and got degrees in strategic communications, business, and psychology.
She is also a guide in the Denver area. She works closely with the Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders and Dare to Cheer programs, the Children’s Hospital of Colorado, the Boys and Girls Club of Denver, and Habitat for Humanity.
