Today, May 30, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the final results for the UPSC Civil Services test 2021. Women dominated the exam this year, with Shruti Sharma taking the top spot with an All India Rank 1 finish.

Who Is Shruti Sharma?
Shruti Sharma is a resident of the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh who recently grabs attention by topping in UPSC 2021 exams.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Delhi University’s St. Stephens College of Delhi University in History (Hons.).
Sharma was later accepted into Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for her postgraduate studies after finishing her bachelor’s degree. She was born in 1996 and is aged 26 years. Her father D.K.N Sharma was a PAU Professor while her mother is named Santosh Sharma. Shruti who has a height of 5 feet and 6 inches is currently unmarried.
Apart from this, she also studied at Jamia Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) for the Civil Services exam.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) funds the RCA to give free coaching and residential amenities to students from underrepresented groups like scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and minorities. According to a Jamia official, 23 students from the coaching institution passed the examinations.
How Did She Become A Topper?
She was a history student who had spent a long period studying for the UPSC CSE Exams. She began preparing for the UPSC IAS Exams after finishing her schooling at Delhi University, and her hard work and commitment have earned her the title of All India Topper for the 2021 batch of Civil Services officers.
In an interview, she said,
The journey required a lot of hard work and a lot of patience.
Shruti told a news outlet that she couldn’t believe she got first place since she hadn’t expected it. She was really worried about the results before they were released.
With History as an optional subject, she passed India’s highest civil service examinations.
Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla came in second and third, respectively, while Aishwarya Verma came in fourth in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021.
A total of 685 individuals have been shortlisted for positions in the civil services, including IAS, IPS, IFS, and other branches. The top candidates were chosen based on their performance in all three stages that is prelims, mains, and the UPSC interview phase.
