Shriyanka Sadangi is a professional rifle shooter
She has won over 32 international medals in various competitions and has been a part of the Indian Shooting Team since 2009. Her major notable achievements are :
1. Olympic Quota winner for Paris 2024 Olympics
2. Asian Championship 2023 Gold and Bronze medalist
3. ISSF World Cup 2022 bronze medalist
4. South Asian Games 2019 Gold and Silver medalist
5. Multiple Asian Championship medalist
6. World Youth Record holder
7. Junior World Cup Gold Medalist in 2012.
8. National Champion in 2021.
9. represented India in 2 World Championships
She started her shooting career in 2006 as a part of a talent hunt scheme started by the Indian Army called Mission Olympics “Catch them young”.
Her first International medal was in 2011 at the Asian Shooting Championship in Kuwait where she won a gold medal by creating the Youth World Record with her team mates, thats when her International career picked up.
Its a story of persistence and perseverance, where in a career spanning over 15 years, she has faced numerous ups and downs. Has missed many medals with a narrow margin and missed making it to the team of many competitions, but she has never given up and kept working towards her goal, leading her to win an Olympic Quota in 2023 Asian Championship.
Education:
She has done her high school from DPS Vasant Kunj. Done her Graduation and Post Graduation from St. Stephens College, New Delhi. MBA from KIIT University, Bhibaneshwar and is now a PhD scholar with them.
She is employed with the Odisha Government in OMC (Odisha Mining Corporation).
Belongs to an Army Family
Father is a retired Army Officer, he has also played Ranji Trophy (cricket) for many years for Odisha and Services.
Mother is an edicationist, principal of a school in Delhi. Younger brother is a banker and has played National Level Tennis.
