On Mahashivratri, the devotees are blessed with the gold-plated Shiv Parivar. The procession that will begin at 3:30 pm will head towards Sursagar Lake from Chowkhandi, Mandvi and Nyaymandir.

As the Shiv Parivaar procession began in the city Shivji Ki Savari the slogans Bam Bam Bhole and Har Har Mahadev began to circulate. The procession started at the popular Ranmukteshwar Mahadev temple in Pratapnagar, where a sizable crowd of people had gathered. Slogans and praises to Lord Shiva transform the entire atmosphere into Shivmay.

Like every year, the Shivji Ki Savari is a top draw when the gold-plated Shiv Parivar makes his way through the city in a parade to bless the faithful on Mahashivratri in Vadodara. In the March of the Lord, there are more than sixty-five floats representing schools, faiths, and sports.

Shivji Ki Savari is a major city attraction in Mahashivratri

Beginning with the aarti, the procession of Shiv Parivaar—Lord Shiva, Maa Parvati, Shree Ganesh, and Shree Kartikey—seated on Nandi begins from the Shree Ranmukteshwar temple. Following the aarti, the sounds of Dhol, Nagada, Bands, and Shiv Bhajans precede the procession.

According to custom, the procession begins with the Har Har Mahadev chants at the Runmukteshwar Mahadev temple in Pratapnagar. Along with floats representing schools, faiths, and sports, the parade is led by folk dancing mandals, bands, dhol, and other organizations. Shiv Parivar’s chariot is the center of attention because of its brilliant gold finish.

After going through Nyaymandir, Bhagatsinh Circle, Khanderao Market, and Mandvi Chowkhandi, the procession continues on to Sursagar for the Maha Aarti.

The roadshow starts at the Runmukteshwar Mahadev Temple

Every year on Mahashivratri, a large number of people watch the procession, which is adorned with colorful floats. This year, a variety of vibrant floats enthusiastically joined the procession. Along the way, many mandals greet the procession with chanting and Shiv Bhajans played by DJ systems. Along the way, several youth organizations give the people Farali prasad, Sharbat, and water.

Beginning at the Runmukteshwar Mahadev Temple, the procession travels through the following locations: Chowkhandi, Mandvi, Nyay Mandir, Sursagar, Raopura Road, Kothi, and finally, Shivpuri, close to the Aradhana talkies.

There will be a Maha Aarti at Sarveshvar Mahadev in Sursagar.
