As Andy Carroll took his place in the penalty area, a section of away fans behind the goal started singing, “You’re just a s*** Andy Carroll.” But only seconds later, his spectacular header put them ahead.

Dom Telford then rode off in jubilation in front of the Salford supporters, who he chanted back angrily. Additional goals from Dion Conroy and Teddy Jenks helped Crawley to a 3-2 victory. Following the final whistle, Telford’s social media trolling of Salford’s supporters did not stop.

Over Twitter he simply said, “SH*T ANDY CARROLL,” followed by three laughing emojis.

After two terrible tackles in the span of 10 minutes on Saturday night, Carroll was sent off for Reading. As a result of one of those difficulties, Christian Eriksen had to use crutches to leave Old Trafford.
