Shia Labeou’s Parents
Shia’s parents, Shayna Saide and Jeffrey LaBeouf are his parents.
The actor disclosed that his father was raised in San Francisco and received training in commedia dell’arte clowning in an interview with Esquire in 2018. He added that his father had previously written songs for the rock group The Doobie Brothers.
According to Esquire, Jeffrey served three tours in Vietnam as well, but after returning home, he battled heroin addiction for many years, according to Esquire. In the same interview, Shia referred to his mother, Shayna, as “my everything.”
She was born and raised in Manhattan’s Lower East Side before relocating to California. She made money by selling purses, barrettes, and other items at a trade show.
In Los Angeles’ Echo Park, Shayna met Jeffrey, who was instructing Karate at the time. Shia LaBeouf, which roughly translates to “Thank God for the Beef,” is the name the couple gave their baby.
His last name reflects the Cajun and Jewish religions of his father and mother, respectively. The family shared a home in an apartment across from Echo Park, but Shia’s parents divorced when he was just three years old.
“When they were working together to create, they truly loved one another.” “S**t fell apart when they stopped producing,” he told the outlet.
What The Padre Pio Star Said In A New Interview About His Parents
The actor talked for about 90 minutes about a variety of topics, including religion, his parents, and the making of his movie Honey Boy. He described his mother as a “hippie Jew” when discussing his mother’s Jewish faith in the interview.
He said, “She wasn’t a practising Jew, in that she’d tried to fill in and read the old testament, but she was Jewish in culture. She liked the art, liked being a part of it, she liked the rabbis and the charisma.
He also talked about how his relationship with his mother Shayna was impacted by some of the scandals that shook his career. The actor stated of the difficult moment in his life: “My mum didn’t want anything to do with me. Astonishingly ashamed was my mother.” He admitted he hadn’t spoken to his mother in a while and that, at the time, he was living in a parking lot.
The actor then explained how one day he picked up the phone and told her he loved her and that he was safe.
At the conclusion of the interview, the actor mentioned his father, Jeffrey, and how he helped him secure the Bob Dylan song All I Really Want to Do for his upcoming movie Honey Boy. The film, which details Shia’s connection with his father, was written by him.
The actor admits that he lacked the funds for a Neil Young song for the movie. I contacted my father after that, and he played me a song by Bob Dylan. The artist of End of the Line granted the actor’s request for the song and delivered it to him without charge, the actor recalled.
While Filming Paddy Pio, The Actor Embraced Catholicism.
While training for the role of Padre Pio, Shia found that she was captivated by spirituality. He prepared for the part of the Italian priest by residing in a monastery with Franciscan Capuchin Friars.
The actor added in the interview when asked about his conversion to Catholicism: “I realise now that God was using my ego to lead me to him, guiding me away from materialistic aspirations. Everything was occurring simultaneously.”
Shia went on to say that hearing about other people’s experiences had given him hope that he would eventually turn to God.
