A suicide attack outside Karachi University jolted Pakistan, killing four people. On Tuesday afternoon, three Chinese teachers and their Pakistani driver were killed in a targeted suicide bombing inside the university’s Confucius Institute.
The attack was done by the separatist Balochistan Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade. This attack struck shockwaves across the world since it was the first suicide bombing by a woman from the terrorist group.

Who Was Shari Baloch?
Suicide Bomber, Shari Baloch, was a primary school teacher in her hometown of Kech. She comes from a well-established and well-educated family that lives in peace. During her death, she was just 30 years old.
Habitan Bashir Baloch, Shari Baloch’s spouse, is a dentist. She is the mother of two children i. e. eight-year-old Mahrosh and four-year-old Meer Hassan. Her father worked for a government agency as a Director. He later went on to serve three years on the District Council.
Her one brother is a tehsildar (grade 16 police officer), while the other works at the district court. One of her uncles is a rights activist, novelist, and retired professor. Two of her cousins are medical professionals.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in education in 2014 and her master’s degree in education in 2018. She also earned a Master’s degree in zoology from the University of Balochistan and her M. Phil from the Turbat branch of Allama Iqbal Open University.
Why Did She Join Balochistan Liberation Army?
Although, the exact reason behind why she joined Balochistan Liberation Army is unknown. However, there are some clues from his past that made it obvious why she joined the terrorist outfit.
Shari was a part of the Baloch students’ organisation as a student and was well informed of the Baloch genocide and the forceful invasion of Balochistan done by the Pakistan Army.
The fact that Shari, a well-educated lady, was involved in the attack has set off warning bells.
