If you haven’t been living under a rock on the moon for the past few weeks, you’re probably aware of the ongoing feud between ex-lovers Shakira and Gerard Pique. In 2022, Shakira, 45, and Pique, 35, ended their more than ten-year relationship. The ex-couple had two children together as well.
Shakira to drop new diss song for ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique, know its release date in 2023
This week, Pique’s relationship with Clara Chia Marti, 23, was finally confirmed on Instagram. On his official Instagram page, Pique published a picture without a caption.
Shakira’s diss single set new records on YouTube.
A vicious diss song directed at her ex-partner was published earlier this month by Shakira, one of the most well-known music stars in the world. The song “BZRP Music Sessions #53” broke the record for the most views for a Latin music video in that period with 63 million views in the first 24 hours after it was posted to YouTube.
Shakira’s most recent song contains the less-than-subtle jabs “You swapped a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo” and “You exchanged a Rolex for a Casio” aimed at Pique’s current girlfriend. Pique, who retired from football and finished his time with Barcelona in November, has since signed a partnership with Casio and has been spotted driving a Twingo.
Shakira is currently working on a song for Pique.
Hell, they say, hath no fury like a woman scorned, and it appears as if Shakira will soon release another song criticising Pique. This is by Marca, who states that the Colombian performer is composing a brand-new song that will be made available on February 2.
The second of February is a notable date. Why is it so? As Pique and Shakira share the same birthday, it can be the day that Shakira may release her song. The new video was reportedly recorded by Shakira and Karol G in just two days, despite the sessions lasting more than 15 hours each day.
According to Marca, there have been rumours that Shakira’s upcoming song may make references to Pique in a more subtle and less obvious approach.
