The late WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard will be honoured with Warrior Award on April 1 as part of the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2022 event, WWE announced on Friday. In place of him, his family will receive the award.

Gaspard died in May 2020 at the age of 39 while swimming in Venice Beach in Los Angeles, trying to save his kid from a rip current. Gaspard’s son was saved by lifeguards, but the former pro wrestler was not.
Since 2015, the Warrior Award has been granted yearly to people who have “exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of The Ultimate Warrior.”
Gaspard will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022, along with The Undertaker, Vader, and Sharmell. The American Airlines Center in Dallas will host the ceremony.

Shad Gaspard was born in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of New York City, United States, on January 13, 1981. He was a professional wrestler and actor from the United States. He was well known for his tenure with WWE when he wrestled as Shad or under his true name.
He was of Curaçaoan and Haitian descent. In 2009, he married Siliana, a fitness model and athlete. Aryeh was their son’s name.
When Gaspard was approached by an inebriated individual who was bent on robbing a petrol station in Coral Springs, Florida, on December 11, 2016, he stopped the armed robbery. Gaspard shoved the man, snatched his gun, and put him in a chokehold until the cops came.
His WWE Career
Shad Gaspard and Jayson Paul founded ‘The Gang Stars’ in early 2006, but when they signed contracts with WWE, they had to alter its name to ‘Cryme Tyme.’ Cryme Tyme’ was included in a number of big storylines, however, they were unable to draw a large audience.
They were published by WWE a year later. In 2008, they returned to WWE and began teaming with John Cena. They appeared in various storylines again but were unable to repeat as Tag Team Champions.
In his final televised appearance, he beat Jesse Guyver on SmackDown on May 14th. He was released from his contract on November 19th, 2010. In 2012, he fought in the NWA Pro again.
