Gomez Ponti Barcelona legal head abused Lionel Messi in leaked WhatsApp messages
The WhatsApp group chat messages seized from the head of Barça's legal department, Gómez Ponti, reflect the anger towards the players, where Messi is reffered to a "sewer r*t" and "hormonal dwarf" and Pique is called a "son of a b**ch" after the defeat against Bayern.

Despite spending 17 years at Barcelona, and playing a heavy role in the club’s success, it looks like not everyone is happy with the Argentine according to the WhatsApp chat leaks.
Lionel Messi’s Legacy
Lionel Messi joined Barcelona at the young age of 17 having proven to hold tons of potential. The Argentine legend went on to spend the next 17 years of his career at the Spanish club. During his time there, he managed to score 474 goals out of just 520 matches.
In fact, he managed to win every single trophy possible with the Spanish giants. Despite all this success, Barcelona had to release him as a free agent following some bad financial conditions.
Back in 2021, Lionel Messi’s contract with the club had ended and due to La Liga’s financial fair play rule, Barcelona weren’t allowed to extend his contract anymore. As such, this led to Messi leaving the club to join French giants PSG on a free transfer.
Bartomeu’s resignation
Barcelona were in a huge financial mess back in 2021 under then club president Josep Maria Bartomeu. The troubles began due to some unrealistic transfers committed by the Barcelona higher-ups.
Following the financial mess and Messi’s departure, club fans slammed Bartomeu for his extremely poor judgments. Bartomeu’s decisions had also caused a lot of Barca players to forcibly lower their salaries. Faced with immense pressure, Bartomeu was forced to resign by the majority of the fans.
The shocking WhatsApp Chats
Just recently, Spanish outlet El Periodico’s released a publication revealing some very shocking WhatsApp chats targeted towards Messi. The chats take place between various former Barcelona higher-ups.
In the WhatsApp chats, Roman Gomez Ponti, who was the Head of Legal Services under Bartomeu, allegedly addressed Lionel Messi as a ‘sewer r*t’ and ‘hormonal dw*rf’ and also addressed Gerard Piqué as a ‘son of a b*tch’.
Roman Gomez Ponti reportedly texted:
Barto, really, you can’t be such a good person with this sewer rat. The club has given him everything and he has dedicated himself to marking a dictatorship of signings, transfers, renewals, and sponsors just for him
He further added:
And above all, the accumulation of blackmails and disrespect that the club and those of us who work at the club have suffered from this hormonal dwarf who owes Barcelona his life… ah!
He was referring to Messi’s Growth Hormone Deficiency (GDH) problem, which the club helped massively with the treatment.
Bartomeu responded to Ponti’s message saying:
I agree on many things, but first Barcelona and this type of article hurts the club’s image
The club’s senior officials also went on to address other club legends like Pique and Busquets in the same manner.
