How to watch live streaming of National Badminton Championships 2023

Fans can watch the live streaming of the National Badminton Championships 2023 on the newly-launched Poona Game app. Besides providing a live stream, the mobile app will also provide daily schedules, match updates, and score updates for fans. Sadly, there will be no live telecast of the National Badminton Championships 2023 on any TV channel in India.

This year, the National Badminton Championships 2023 will feature six different events. The six events are:

  • Women’s singles
  • Men’s doubles
  • Women’s doubles
  • Mixed doubles
  • Mixed team championship

The event will feature seven teams in the team championship along with the individual championships.

National Badminton Championships 2019

The most recent edition of the Badminton National Championship took place four years back in February 2019. In that edition, Saina Nehwal defeated PV Sindhu to win the women’s singles crown, while Sourabh Verma emerged as the men’s singles champion.

In the double’s category, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Chirag Shetty won the men’s doubles title. Meanwhile, Shikha Gautam-Ashwini Bhat K and Manu Attri-K Maneesha won the women’s and mixed doubles titles, respectively. The competition then got cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

National Badminton Championships 2023

The National Badminton Championships 2023 sees the badminton nationals return to Pune after 26 years. The city in Maharashtra last hosted the national tournament back in 1997.

The tournament will feature prominent player like former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth, Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen and current India No. 1 HS Prannoy. Besides them, Malvika Bansod and Parupalli Kashyap are the other big names in the singles category.

Meanwhile, defending champion Sourabh Verma, former world championships bronze medallist B Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma are also competing. The tournament has 479 registered entries in total, which includes several youngsters like Mithun Manjunath, Kiran George and Priyanshu Rajawat.

Some other notable badminton players include Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly, who were the All England semi-finalists in women’s doubles combination and men’s doubles specialists Chirag Shetty, Dhruv Kapila, Krishna Prasad and Vishnuvardhan Goud.

The inter-state team championships will first take place on the opening two days of the National Badminton Championships 2023. Following which the individual championships will then take place from February 24 onwards.
