She won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games held in the year 2006 and was awarded Bhim Award by the Haryana state government in the same year on 26 June, in the year 2006. Seema’s absence from the Asian Games of 2006 attracted all the media attention. She was tested positive for a steroid prior to the Games but was cleared to participate by the National Federation later on.
