Gina began her modelling career as a teenager by competing in beauty pageants. She was born in Subiaco in 1927. In the 1947 Miss Italia competition, she bagged the third position.
She avoided American filmmaking because of contractual disputes with producer Howard Hughes, although at this time she gained notoriety in several European films.
Some Of The Famous Role
Gina obtained roles in the movies The Bride Couldn’t Wait, Alina, Dog’s Life, and Fearless Little Soldier after a number of uncredited roles.
In the Italian-language film Bread, Love, and Dreams, she portrayed Bersagliera. She received a Nastro d’Argento award and her first Bafta nomination for the part. In John Huston’s 1954 English-language film Beat the Devil, Gina made her significant Hollywood debut.

Before playing brief parts in the programmes Falcon’s Crest and Love Boat, one of her final significant performances on the big screen was in the 1972 picture King, Queen, Knave.
As her acting career began to wane, Gina discovered her new love for photography and wrote a book called Italia Mia using the images she had taken.
As a photojournalist, she managed to interview Fidel Castro of Cuba. Gina is shown in a photo from a Los Angeles event in 1981.
