“Scumbag beggar” meaning explained as YouTuber Harris Sultan accuses video editor Nihal Pareek of scamming him
Reportedly, Harris Sultan, an Australia-based YouTuber and ex-Muslim, who is widely known for his critical content on Islam, took to X/Twitter and revealed that he was scammed by his video editor, identified as Nihal Pareek.
Taking the matter to X, Sultan revealed that he hired a “cheap video editor from India who tried to scam me for money,” while adding that after he refused to pay him, “he changed my channel’s name to ‘Scumbag Beggar.’”
The meaning of scumbag is a dirty or despicable person while a person who lives by asking people for money, food, etc. on the streets is a beggar.
.@YouTubeCreators, I made the mistake of hiring a cheap video editor from India who tried to scam me for money. When I refused, he changed my channel's name to 'Scumbag Beggar.' Now @YouTube is telling me I have to wait 14 days before I can change it back. Really @YouTube? pic.twitter.com/eMcolWJcmu

In addition, Sultan tagged YouTube, while accusing Nihal Pareek for changing his channel’s name. He added, “Now @YouTube is telling me I have to wait 14 days before I can change it back. Really @YouTube?”.
The post quickly gained attention online, prompting a series of responses from the audience and YouTube alike. The video-sharing platform, YouTube, commented on his post, “@TheHarrisSultan totally understand your frustration, we’ve sent you a DM with the next steps.”
Soon after, Sultan’s channel name was restored to “Harris Sultan.” Meanwhile, many online users are interpreting Sultan’s post as an attack on India rather than just on the video editor.
To which, Harris Sultan, responded, “You are a world-class idiot if you think I’m naming the whole country.”
In another follow-up post on X, Sultan again emphasized that it’s “not an attack on India.” In his follow-up tweet, Sultan wrote, “PS This is not an attack on India as butt hurt snowflaks percieve it.
“My other Urdu/Hindi video editor @BadsahaTinu is an Indian and has been working for me for many years.”
This scumbag agreed to US$40 per video. He made 11 videos and was paid a total of US$445 over the weeks. So how on earth do I owe him an additional $10? Then, he suddenly started calculating in Indian Rupees, as if I monitor the exchange rate. Naturally, I would transfer US$40… pic.twitter.com/UI6tZoTq3v
