His career
Satya Pal Malik started his political career in 1968–1969 when he was chosen to lead the students’ union. He later won the election on Charan Singh’s Bharatiya Kranti Dal ticket and was elected to the legislative assembly from Baghpat.
Eventually, upon the founding of Bharatiya Lok Dal, he rose to the position of general secretary. He participated in national politics as well, sitting in the Lok Sabha from Aligarh on a Janata Dal ticket from 1989 to 1991 and in the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh from 1980 to 1989.
He was named the National Vice President of the BJP in 2012. Between September 2017 and October 2022, Satya Pal Malik Malik also held the office of governor in many states, including Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, and Meghalaya.
