Backdrop and early years
In the Mumbai suburbs, Sarfaraz was born and raised. Azad Maidan was where he spent the majority of his youth. Young cricketers like Iqbal Abdulla and Kamran Khan were developed there by Naushad Khan, his father and coach. When his father recognised his gift for accurate ball timing, he started tutoring him at a young age. He lived in the suburbs and found it difficult to travel to the maidan (grounds) in the monsoon, so a synthetic pitch was set up next to his home so he could train.
In addition to saving us time and effort, his father added, “it has also helped him get used to the bouncy wickets he will have to deal with later on.”
He needed a private tutor for his math and English lessons because he was unable to attend school for four years due to his cricket commitments. His father’s name is Naushan Khan while his mother is named Tabassum. He has two brothers Musheer and Moin. He is unmarried and doesn’t have a wife while his height stands at 5 feet 5 inches and he weighs 75kg.
Career and Statistics
He was the youngest player to feature in an IPL match when he made his debut for the team RCB in 2015 at the age of just 17 years and 177 days. He was the only uncapped player to be kept by a team in the IPL the very next season. He is currently the fourth-youngest player in the IPL’s history. He and his younger brother Musheer were both listed in the famous Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack in 2012 when he was 15 years old.
