Over 300 traditional cuisines from 25 states are being offered at the Saras Food Festival, which is being organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and runs until December 17.
In addition to being a feast for the senses, the Saras Food Festival, which is taking place at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, is a colorful celebration of India’s rich culinary legacy and the extraordinary contribution that women make with food from 25 states available here.

The theme of Saras Food Festival is “Saras Aajeevika” and the name of the respective state, their traditional dishes, and their prices are written on each stall with more than 300 stalls at the festival.
Saras Food Festival 2024 will be taking place from December 1-17, 2024 between 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM at Handicraft Bhawan, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi with there no entry fees.
The nearest metro station to reach the location is Shivaji Stadium.

Saras Food Festival’s attractions
The Saras Food Festival provides a delectable sampling of India’s diverse cuisines, ranging from the flavourful Hilsa of Bengal to the crispy Dal Baati Churma of Rajasthan. To mention a few, guests have been enjoying Punjab’s Sarson Ka Saag with Makki Ki Roti, Odisha’s Mughlai Chicken, and Telangana’s Dum Biryani.
The Saras Food Festival is a culinary feast, but what really sets it apart is its emphasis on women’s emancipation. At the festival, about 150 female self-help group members and entrepreneurs from all over the nation are demonstrating their culinary prowess.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s attendance at the festival on Wednesday enhanced the joyous mood. He said, “The Saras Mela has become a beacon of cultural unity. The aroma of traditional dishes made by our sisters is attracting people from all corners of Delhi.”
After launching the Didi Cafe campaign to promote women, Chouhan continued to tell tales of similar initiatives he encountered while serving as Madhya Pradesh’s chief minister. The women of the Ajeevika Mission continue to operate the Didi Cafe. The work that these women do is their passion.
It is evident from the Saras Food Festival’s continued popularity that it is a celebration of more than just cuisine as it also honours culture, resiliency, and the indisputable power of women.
