Sansad Ratna Awards of 2023 have been given to thirteen members of the parliament, and two parliamentary committees, know the full winners list
During the Sansad Ratna Award 2023, the prominent CPI-M leader T K Rangarajan received a lifetime achievement award. The names for Sansad Ratna Awards 2023 were released on Tuesday, 21.2.23. Thirteen members of the parliament and two parliamentary committees have been honored with this accolade.

Sansad Ratna Award 2023 winners and nomination
T K Rangarajan who is a two-term Rajya Sabha MP and a prominent CPI-M leader has received the Sansad Ratna Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 for his amazing work in the parliament.
The Lok Sabha’s Parliamentary Committee on Finance, which has been chaired by Jayant Sinha, and Rajya Sabha’s Standing Committee on the Tourism, Transport, and Culture, which is chaired by Vijay Sai Reddy, have been also honored with Sansad Ratna Award.
A total of Thirteen MPs got nominated for the Sansad Ratna Awards of 2023, including the Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, RJD’s Manoj Jha, and the CPI-John M’s Brittas. The 13 MPs have eight chairpersons from the Lok Sabha and 5 from the Rajya Sabha, as well as three of them, are retired members,’ as per the reports of the Prime Point Foundation which established this award.
Among those people who have been nominated were Bidyut Baran Mahato (BJP, Jharkhand), Dr. Sukanta Majumdar (BJP, West Bengal), Kuldeep Rai Sharma (INC, Andaman Nicobar Islands), Dr. Heena Vijayakumar Gavit (BJP, Maharashtra), Gopal Chinayya Shetty (BJP, Maharashtra), Sudhir Gupta (BJP, Madhya Pradesh) and Dr. Amol Ramsing Kolhe (NCP, Maharashtra) for their amazing performance in 17th Lok Sabha under various categories
Criteria for Sansad Ratna Award 2023
The nominations are based on the members’ total performance in Questions, Private Member’s Bills, and debates from the start of the 17th Lok Sabha until its end in Session 2022. The members’ performance data is obtained from PRS India, the Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha Secretariats.
In late 2022, the Foundation and PreSense created a new category which has been named “Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement Award” for recognizing experienced leaders who made big significant contributions to Indian politics, our society, and our people.
Sansad Ratna Award 2023 date
As per Foundation, all these awards will be awarded on the 25th of March on behalf of civil society. The Sansad Ratna Awards had been established at the suggestion of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to recognize outstanding Parliamentarians. In early 2010, he hosted the maiden edition of the ceremony of awards which took place in Chennai. The award has been given to a total of 90 outstanding Parliamentarians to date.
