Sanjay was taken into custody and he was also detained by ED in the Patravala Chaal scam case. Raut has allegedly perceived funds from Pravin Raut, who has been a main accused of an INR 60,000 crores scam. The latter is said to have gained access to high levels of government due to a close relationship with Sanjay Raut
In early 2022, in the middle of political turmoil in Maharashtra state, he was served notice by Enforcement Directorate (ED) for interrogation. He recently claimed a deal worth INR 2000 crore to purchase Shiv Sena’s symbol as well as name.
