Sangram Singh Joins Anti-Drug Campaign at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium as Part of ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ Initiative

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter and former Commonwealth heavyweight wrestling champion, Sangram Singh, took part in a major anti-drug campaign today at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium

This initiative was a part of the ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ movement, which promotes a healthy lifestyle and environmental sustainability.

The ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ movement, launched by the Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, aims to inspire citizens to adopt cycling as part of their fitness routine while helping reduce air pollution levels. The event kicked off from the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi and saw an enthusiastic turnout of over 500 cyclists. Participants included Sports Authority of India (SAI) campers, senior officials from various cycling clubs in Delhi, and members of the public.

Previously, the cycling event had been organized at more than 2,800 locations across the country, drawing impressive participation from forces like the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The initiative not only highlights the importance of fitness but also encourages eco-friendly practices to combat air pollution nationwide.

Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and MY Bharat, the ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ movement continues to gather momentum, inspiring individuals of all ages to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

During the event, Sangram Singh delivered a powerful speech, stressing the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle. He also discussed the role of cycling in reducing pollution levels in the capital and the urgent need to address the increasing use of tobacco among the younger generation. He emphasized that the health risks associated with tobacco use were having a serious impact on the youth of India, urging them to make informed, health-conscious choices.
