Sana Sheikh of Forever Modest who got deal from all sharks on Shark Tank accused of forced circumcision and conversion of Deepak Sonawane

Deepak Sonawane has recently said that Sana Farheen Shahmir Sheikh, an entrepreneur from Sambhajinagar and the owner of Forever Modest who appeared on Shark Tank India forced him to become a Hindu and get circumcised when they were together.

But in a surprising turn of events, Sana’s clothing brand, “Forever Modest,” has been given Rs. 20 lakhs by the popular TV show Shark Tank.

During the show, Sana asked for Rs. 20 lakhs for a 10% stake in her company. She impressed the judges, so she later asked Namita Thapar, Amit Jain, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, and Aman Gupta to all be a part of the deal for Rs. 20 lakhs for 20% equity.

Sana’s clothing brand has a large selection of “modest” clothes for people who want to cover most of their bodies. There are also clothes from Islam in the collection. The funding from Shark Tank was their 100th deal, and Sana’s brand was the lucky one to get it.

Sana Sheikh’s business success overshadowed by controversial allegations

But Sana’s recent funding came during a time when she was already in court. Deepak Sonawane, who is Dalit, has said that Sana forced him to convert to Islam before they got married. He has also said that she tortured and embarrassed him.

The person who was hurt said that Sana had gotten him into a relationship and then forced him to become Muslim. Even though he said no, members of Sana’s family took him away and tortured him. They forced him to get circumcised and said that if he didn’t convert, the video would go viral on the internet. Also, they said they would kill his family.

Deepak also told in detail how Sana’s family tried to get him to pay them money and how they called him names because of his caste. He said that Sana’s mother had asked for Rs. 11 lakhs and threatened to spread lies about him on the internet if he didn’t pay. Later, they asked for more money—Rs. 25 lakhs—and when he didn’t give it, they made up a rape case against him.

Deepak went to a few different police stations and talked to a few different officers, but no one took his case seriously. He said that the police wouldn’t open a case because the powerful local MP Imtiaz Jaleel was involved.

Bombay High Court grants bail to Sana Sheikh

On March 2, Sana and her family went to the Bombay High Court to ask for bail before Deepak’s case was heard. The court gave relief and threw out the “love jihad” accusations.

However, the court noted that the expert was unable to say whether the circumcision was natural or was due to any surgical intervention. The expert didn’t know when it would have been done either. The court also said that Deepak took too long to file the FIR. Which means that the story “may” lose some of its importance.

The case has made people all over the country talk about forced conversions and how to keep vulnerable people safe. Even though the money for Sana’s clothing line is a good thing, it is important to keep in mind the accusations against her and the ongoing legal process.
