Salt Bae Meme Is Not A New Troll Material, He Has Been Here For Many Years Now
You may have heard of the famous “Salt Bae” meme after Lionel Messi ignored chef and Internet star Nusret Gokce a few times before finally looking at the camera after the World Cup final. But the GIF has been around for five years.
Fans don’t like that only former players and heads of state are allowed to touch the golden trophy at the World Cup. Salt Bae, on the other hand, has posted several pictures of himself with the big prize on his Instagram.

Even though the Turkish butcher doesn’t seem to care about the criticism, he made the most of his time with the players in Qatar by being photographed standing next to them and doing his signature salt-sprinkling move.
When Did Salt Bae First Get Viral?
In 2017, when a video of Nusret went viral, his luck changed overnight. The chef didn’t know at the time that the way he seasoned the meat would make him famous. Early in 2017, he put up a video of himself making an Ottoman steak, which quickly went viral.
In the video, the chef sprinkles salt on the meat while his forearm is folded in a way that many people liked. Soon, it was made into memes that went viral on the internet. At the time this story was written, it had been seen close to 17 million times.
And the same thing has come up again after Messi was seen ignoring Nusret as the Argentinian team celebrated their win over France. Messi looks away from Slat Bae in this video, even though Bae tried many times to get the football star to look at the camera.
Gif Has Been Online For More Than Five Years.
